A dear friend asked me to design an image for her team. She had already designed a font to look like constellations and wanted a design inspired by Homer's The Odyssey, but in space.
1-3. FINAL DESIGN: The spaceship was changed for a Greek war ship with a zeppelin.
4-5. ORIGINAL DESIGN: Cyclops on a spaceship
CEMPASÚCHILL
BIKE POLO TEAM SHIRTS
Pen & ink and Photoshop
Team shirt designs for a North American FLINTA championship held in Mexico City.
Because the team name was a play on the Mexican marigold cempasúchil, designs made nods to the Day of the Dead, such as the font designed to look like papel picado art and references to the Aztec legend of Huitzilín the hummingbird and Xóchitl the flower.
1-2. LA CATRINA: Featuring an extremely "chill" dapper skeleton.
3-5: LA CALAVERA: Featuring a sugar skull chewing on a marigold stem.

4-6. OPTION 2: Memento mori motifs
