Life... finds a way
Pen & ink, 2019
Inspired by a picture of the former Aral Sea. Formerly the 4th largest lake in the world, the Aral Sea began to shrink in the 1960s due to Soviet irrigation projects, and by 2014 its eastern basin had dried up completely into what is now known as the Aralkum desert. Abandoned boats still litter the changed landscape, serving as a reminder of what once was.
