For the nighttime storm sequence at sea, lighting shifted between moody purples and blues and flashes of light to indicate lightning.

This minimalist set was to designed to look like a rehearsal space. Spike marks were painted onto the floor and set pieces were kept minimal and painted to look like untreated, distressed wood. In contrast to the minimalist set, the show heavily relied on lighting and sound effects to recreate the feel of the 1930s Hitchcock spy thriller and boasted a final count of 129 sound cues.

The set was designed to look like a children's fairy-tale "pop-up" picture book. Foam set pieces had to be light enough to be moved by 10 year old stage-hands but also stable enough to not be damaged by young hands. The flooring needed to read as both swamp, forest, and dungeon floor under different lighting.

The set was inspired by the original Clue board game. Lighting was heavily used in this production to highlight each room as a separate "game space" color coded to each character.

This version of the show relied heavily on quick changes with the use of moveable "floor to ceiling" windows. The floor was painted to both resemble a formal indoor marble floor and an outdoor garden with manicured stones. Projected images placed the quick setting changes with the help of a bespoke 10'x6' faux gilded picture frame .

This extremely minimalistic set was designed to reflect the "school book report" nature of the show. The main set feature was a 9'x12' Nordic "tree of life," with lighting and sound being the main methods for establishing different moods and world changes.
